Join the Green revolution- Make a difference
Kerala, known as God's own country” is one of the largest
manufacturing places in India for Areca nuts.
Areca palm trees shed their leaves naturally and we effectively use
these leaves for producing the value added palm plate dishes.
Areca leaf plates are a perfect alternative to
Plastics/Polymer-based products, which the entire world is concerned about. A
100% natural mechanism is followed for manufacturing these plates also maintain
durability and optimum quality standards at every level of production.
1.Harvest
2.Cleaning
These dry Areca Leaf Sheaths thoroughly cleaned in water to
remove dirt and dust using a brush. These soaked sheaths, when dried will be
more flexible for pressing.
3. Pressing with Heat
The leaf undergoes very high temperature pressing with
moulds, which helps to customize these sheets to make plates of various shapes
and sizes. Depending on the size of a leaf, multiple products can be made.
4. Finishing and sterilization
These plates contain too high moisture content so we need to
be dried and sterilized using UV rays. After drying the plates and packing,
these can be stored for many years, due to vacuum packing.
5. Quality control
1.Anaerobic Plate Count - APC35C
The products are sanitized using UV rays
2.PhytoSanitation
Plant material is safe for contact with food.
Test: Before shipping, the container is fumigated and tested
for safety. To be exported, the test must be passed.
1.ASTM D-6866
Test: Biological material testing
The products are completely natural. There are no additives,
plastics, waxes or glues in the products.
2.ASTM D-6868 and ASTM D-6400
Test: Speed and ability to be composted.
Explanation: The standard for this test is 60% in 90 days.
Areca leaf products will be composted 150 % above the standard in 2/3 the time.
6.Packing
Each plate, Cups, and bowls are minimized packed as 25 or 50 pieces per pack and they are packed in carton boxes as per customer requirement. Before packing again quality checked using Five S tools.
7.Waste Disposal
Food plates thrown after eating will be naturally degraded within 60 days of time like any plant matter. Manufacturing waste of Areca sheaths will be used for vermin compost, dry fodder for animals, bio-fuel bricks.
Advantages of Areca Plates:
1. Eco-friendly, Bio-degradable and Compostable.
2. No chop down of trees, fallen leaves are collected and
turned to value-added products. Waste to wealth concept.
3. No Chemicals, bleaching, PE (Poly Ethylene) coating, Wax
coating at any stage.
4. Lightweight, sturdy and non-crushable.
5. Microwave & Refrigerator safe.
6. Holds liquid items for 4 hours without leakage.
7. Good for hot, wet and cool food items.
We are much concerned about the quality. The products are made in the most hygienic way. We are making the QC inspection for each and every plate as part of the production. We deal with both Domestic and international market. Different quality standards are being followed based on the markets (Domestic and international).

ReplyDeleteInformative post! I never knew that Kerala was one of the largest manufacturing locations in India for Areca Nuts. Making Disposable Plates from their leaves is an innovative way to minimize plastic pollution. However, if more awareness is created about the availability of such environmentally friendly products then people will come eventually switch to green products from toxic plastic products.
